Counrty Fair Fun Day

On July 24th 10 AM til ??? We are having a good old Country Fair here at the Lodge. Kids games for prizes from 10 am til noon. Hot dogs, polish dogs, chips and drinks for $4.00 at noon by the Women of the Moose.

Adult games start at 1 with shuffleboard, pool, horseshoes and maybe even off road golf. We will then have Dinner at 5 pm to 7 pm for only $8.00. Sharon and Marvin's wonderful BBQ ribs, Ranch beans, salad, corn on the cob, watermelon and ice cream sundies for dessert. After dinner entertainment will be by the one and only Ray Krocker and his famous Karaoke. Bring you rigs and stay in the RV park let's make a day and night of it. Breakfast will be the following day at 9 am. So plan on coming down to your lodge and having a great time. Bring the kids and let's have a real Family Fun Day.

Moosekateers here it is. The fourth chapter of my best seling novel "As the Moose Moves".

I want to start off with our Lewiston trip we took in May. First off that camp out is proof positive that our members have the pioneer spirit. Even the wintry weather couldn't keep them from going and having fun. Mike and Fran U were the trail boss' for this one. Mike was out in the rain getting everyone he could to play games. Fran made great Endhiladas for the Saturday night dinner. Marvin Bagwell did a great job on the Bloody Mary's that morning. All in all everyone in spite of the weather had a great time.

Our next camp out was to Lake Siskiyou in June. Although Daylene and I didn't make it to this camp out we have received nothing but glowing reports from those who did. Judy Walker and Cathy McGregor did an outstanding job as first time trail bosses. Judy said her ribs and cheeks hurt so much from laughing. They had wonderful Bloody Mary's Sat. moring once again by Marvin plus a nice breakfast. That night they feasted on Turkey and Ham and all the fantastic side dishes that were made by the members. A good time was had by all. This was our first time at Lake Siskiyou and I think it will be a repeat.

Our next campout was going to be at Sycamore Ranch in Marysville on the Yuba River, but due to not enough people signing up we had to cancel, Therefor we are going to mention the Moose Lodge Campout at Lewiston on Aug 6, 7 and 8 and would like to have as many RV members as possible come on out to the Lodge campout and have some fun. The lodge is closing down that weekend so that every member can come up and have a great time.

In August on the 27th and 28th we will be going to Dance Country in McCloud. Those of you that have gone before know all of the activities we enjoy there. We plan golf, fishing and shoppig in the little town of McCloud. Our new members Steve and Judy Bauer are going to trail this outing and I hear they have some good plans that they are working out. Anyone wishing to go call us to sign up. For this camp out there is a deposit required to secure your reservation.

We have the privilege to join Bob and Linda Pellersels and Bill and Bonnie Fifer to our member list. Welcome guys!

My parting thought for this great works of art is: "Life is not measured by the number of breaths you take, but by the moments that take your breath away".

Dear Brothers and Sisters:

Wow, it is July already. That was a fast two months. The lodge is looking better every day. The lodge funds are up, that means that more of our members are coming out to meals and to visit with us here at the lodge.

All of this couldn't happen if we didn't have great volunteers. We know they help out so our lodge will prosper, not to get their names in the newsletter. But our members like to know who is doing the work, so a big thank you to Jimmy Jay, Fran, Barbara, Marlene, Bill, Joann, Ron our our great breaskfast crews, and of course Dave. What a great Mother's day. Smiles were all over the place, great food and great people. Thank you LOOM for showing the ladies a good time.

Did you make it to the District Picnic? We almost made it to the finals in the horseshoe tournament. June was a good month for our lodge. The Triathlon turned out to be a Quad on the 5th of June and was a lot of fun. Thanks to everyone for your support. We had a great time with Karaoke. Did you hear me sing? Sorry about that!

Thank you ladies for the great Father's Day. You made each of the fathers feel so appreciated and the steaks were great. Did you notice the new flag Pole? It really looks great.

We will be having a dedication ceremony on August 14th at 4PM. By then the memorial will be set and we can be so proud of our new pole, thanks to Tom Monson's family and Ray Ross's wife Elly. Larry Orson has given us his brother's flag to fly. This will make a great addition to our lodge. We have a lot more work cut out for us. But le's make it fun... Your support is what makes it all work.

I want to say a special thank you to Chima and Phil for the wonderful dinner that they donated and put on for the lodge. You really gave a boost to the lodge and everyone had a great time.

A great big thank you to Bill for getting the eggs for the last couple years. We do appreciate you Brother Bill. I would like to say thank you for having confidence in our new officers, our lodge and me. Come on out to the lodge and have fun.
